This request is still "in progress" because it is partially complete. The Inventory tab is not live yet, however, you can now track inventory in the product list and in the product itself. Thanks for your feedback, patience, and enjoy the new feature! =)

I need this too. I thought this was going to be in the physical product update. I have clothing stock to sell but having to keep my shopify store as I only have certain quantities of particular prints and sizes.
