Improved Organization and Display for Pinned Posts in Communities
Currently, pinned posts take up a significant amount of scrolling space within communities, which can sometimes make it difficult for users to quickly access recent discussions and engage with new content. While pinned posts serve an important purpose in highlighting key announcements, resources, or guidelines, their current display can feel overwhelming, especially when multiple posts are pinned at once. Would it be possible to explore a more efficient way to organize and display pinned posts without taking up too much space? Some potential solutions could include: • Collapsible or Expandable Section: Instead of displaying all pinned posts in full, they could be housed in a collapsible or expandable section at the top of the community feed, allowing users to expand and view them when needed. • Pinned Post Carousel or Tab: Pinned posts could be placed in a dedicated tab or horizontal scrolling carousel at the top of the feed, keeping them accessible without disrupting the main content flow. • Priority Pinning & Auto-Minimization: Community owners could have the option to select a single “featured” pinned post that remains visible, while additional pinned posts are minimized into a dropdown or sidebar. The goal is to ensure that important content remains easy to find while allowing for a smoother browsing experience.
